Obsidian is a type of natural glass. Its main component is quartz (Si02); howveer it has no crystal structure. It is formed when lava cools very quickly. Obsidian solidifies as a glass because it doesn't have enough time for crystals to form before it cools to a solid.

Obsidian was very useful to primitive man and to the American Indians because it could be chipped and fractured in any direction, making material to shape tools and weapon points. When arrowheads were made, obsidian was the favorite material to use in regions where deopsits existed maininWyoming, Oregon, California, texas and Mexico.

Arrowhead is made of genuine Obsidian but is a replica arrowhead. It is 1-1/2" in lenght but samples will vary. Price is per replica arrowhead.
