Learning Electronics through Hands-On Projects
An Introductory Series for Interdisciplinary STEM Education
Designed for introducing modern electronics to K-12 students,
this series is an ideal STEM education material for either primary and
secondary classes or summer and after school programs. Through
sequential levels, a student can quickly capture the fundamental
concepts and interesting topics in physics, math and engineering, and
uses the knowledge to solve real-world problems through carefully
designed hands-on experiments and DIY projects.
Each level of the series is intended for 10 to 15 hours class time.
Each kit includes all electronic components and materials necessary for
carrying out the experiments and projects designed for the level. Using
5eBaord platform, no soldering is involved and all parts can be
repeatedly used. All hands-on projects are based on real-world
components, so knowledge gained can be extended to college and beyond.
The package also includes a digital multimeter.
Level 2: Basic DC Circuits and Electrical Measurements
2.1 Electrical Resistance and Resistors
2.2 Resistor Color Code
2.3 Unit Prefix
2.4 Electrical Measurements – Multimeter
2.5 Measure Voltages in a Circuit
2.6 Measure Currents in a Circuit
2.7 Scientific Notation
2.8 Electric Current and Voltage in Series Connections
2.9 Electric Current and Voltage in Parallel Connections
2.10 Conventional Electric Current Direction
Prerequisites: This level requires the knowledge of Level 1 of this series or the equivalent and 2nd grade math and science.
Each kit includes all electronic components and materials necessary
for carrying out the experiments and projects designed for the level
(except for batteries).
Required tools and supplies: (1) a digital multimeter (included), and (2) two AAA (or AA) batt
