Quick physics lesson: light passing through the roof prisms of a binocular gets split into two separate paths, which are slightly "out of phase" with each other when they reach your eye. This reduces image contrast and sharpness. Our sophisticated phase coatings, applied to the roof prism surface, pull the light paths back into lockstep, the result being reduced internal glare and greatly enhanced contrast and resolving power. This Savannah 8x42 Waterproof Phase-Coated binocular is O-ring sealed and nitrogen purged to remain watertight, so you needn't run for cover when the dark clouds roll in. Its long eye relief allows comfortable viewing, even for eyeglass wearers. Using the center focusing wheel you can focus from infinity to a few feet in front of you, for close-range study of birds, butterflies, or other subjects.
