About Us

Located in Manayunk, Spectrum Scientifics educates and entertains customers with an impressive array of telescopes, microscopes, binoculars, science toys, magnets, labware, scales, science instruments, chemistry sets, and much more. Spectrum Scientifics was born out of a need in the Delaware Valley for a Science Education Store that was run and developed by amateur scientists and not by Executives of mall-based chain stores with little to no 'feel' for the product they carry.

Founded in 2007, the store's combination of fun, quirky toys and high-tech scientific equipment draws from the vision of owner Matthew Kriebel. Matthew's extensive experience in the science and retail worlds includes a physics degree and more than 15 years working for companies such as The Franklin Institute, Edmund Scientific, and Orion Telescopes & Binoculars.

Hours are Tuesday through Saturday: 10AM to 6PM, and Sunday and Monday: 11AM-5PM.
